Victim of a Red Light Runner
“On August 30th 2002, my Mother was violently killed a when man ran a red light at a neighborhood intersection in Dallas, Texas.
Alcohol was not involved and the driver had previously been ticketed for running a red light.
The driver was tried and convicted of criminally negligent homicide with his truck as a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to serve five years in prison and is scheduled to be released on parole after three.
Many lives were affected; both my mother’s family and his.
Why would we not want to install a camera that can deter someone who is in a hurry and save lives?”
