HPD: Passenger Dies After Driver Runs Red Light

Chevrolet Impala Collided With 18-Wheeler

EmailPrintHOUSTON -- A man was killed after the driver of the car he was riding in ran a red light and hit an 18-wheeler, police said.

Houston police said the driver of a Chevrolet Impala was traveling westbound in the 6700 block of Airport Boulevard at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses told investigators that the driver ran a red light and and hit an 18-wheeler.

Detectives said the 32-year-old front seat passenger in the Impala died at the scene. His name has not been released.

Alcohol or drugs does not appear to be a factor in the wreck, police said.

Investigators have not released any identifying information about the driver of the Impala or charges he may face.
